I write in reply to Ade Moyse's letter stating that he/she is going to show his/her respect for residents' wellbeing by adhering to the ridiculous proposed 20mph limit.

Can I ask him/her, no make that beg him/her to please disrespect myself and all other residents by not subjecting us to their exhaust fumes for a third longer time it takes to pass through.

If you really feel that you are unable to safely control your vehicle at 30mph maybe it is time to look at alternative forms of transport, maybe buses, but hang on a minute the buses are also subjected to this unrealistic limit, so if their speed is reduced by a third you will have to wait a third longer for the bus to arrive.

I really must congratulate Wirral Council on this ill-thought-out, unrealistic and costly exercise, which incidentally no one voted for.

If anyone is in any doubt about this council’s ability to waste public funds, they excelled yet again by painting the 20mph signs in Seaview Road then two weeks later ripped up the road surface to relay it.

I do hope that come re-election time the prospective candidates come knocking on my door!
