Globe reader's letter to councillor Liz Grey, chair of the council's environment, climate emergency and transport committee
THE Wirral Globe this week is again supporting the campaign against Wirral Council's implementation of the 20mph speed limits.
If these opposition voices had to suffer a family member or friend being killed by a speeding motorist then perhaps they would change their point of view.
I live in Heswall, and since the 20mph road signs have appeared there has been a noticeable reduction in vehicle speed along these roads.
Also with some drivers these new signs now make them aware of the safety risk of driving at higher than appropriate speeds so instead of previously driving at say 5mph above 30mph they at least reduce their speed to 25mph.
My daughter Sandra in 1990 was killed by a speeding motorist in front of Clatterbridge hospital, I thank you each day for your resolute efforts on this matter.
Peter Ford Mason, Heswall
