It’s a pity there isn’t a shortage of fireworks.

I cannot understand how people can buy them now when registered sellers can only sell them from October 15.

According to the Government website: "You can be fined up to £5,000 and imprisoned for up to six months for selling or using fireworks illegally.

"You could also get an on-thespot fine of £90."

I have never known a single person in Britain to be fined £5,000 and imprisoned for six months for illegally using fireworks.

Each year gets worse and with anti-social behaviour at its worst it’s ever been, there needs to be an outright ban on them now before someone gets killed by these weapons.

The only reason the Government won’t ban them is they will lose millions in VAT.

That’s the only reason they won’t ban them, pure and simple.
