ACTION is needed by the council to prevent today’s situation, whereby daily, many litter bins in West Kirby are full up and overflowing.
This situation is most prevalent with the bins on the pavement which runs alongside the Marine Lake, particularly those close to food outlets.
I walk along this pavement early each morning and observe the overflowing bins, which cause paper wrappers etc to blow everywhere, including into the lake.
The situation is bad now and will clearly get worse as we get into summer.
Either more/larger bins are required, or they should be emptied more frequently.
Yes, I know people should take their litter home with them, but that is not a satisfactory answer or response to this very real problem. West Kirby is a great place to live or visit, let’s keep it that way.
