I want to say a huge thank you to all the staff in Arrowe Park's ICU department and on Ward 33 who took such good care of me as they saved my life from COVID.

The majority of the staff were amazing from the doctors to the cleaners.

One thing that struck me is how none of the doctors in the ICU were beyond helping the nurses with the practical tasks they do between doing their own medical tasks.

The physios were there every step of the way, always being friendly and supportive while they helped me get back on my feet.

Everyone dreads the idea of hospital food, but the kitchen staff do an amazing job to pull off the input of a professional chef who looked at Arrowe Park’s food budget and the nutritional needs of patients and came up with amazing, well executed recipes.

The cleaners were always friendly and happy to have a quick chat as they cleaned my bay on ward 33.

I have already received a letter for a telephone follow up appointment since I was in the ICU. I was told to expect an invitation to a 12 week follow up x-ray soon as well.

I want to say thank you to every member of staff at Arrowe Park Hospital who saved my life and helped me recover from COVID from January 8-25.

If those of you reading this have a loved on in Arrowe Park or are concerned about ending up there with COVID, please be reassured that they/you will be well taken care of.
