HUNDREDS more trees have been felled or reduced to branchless trunks - and hedgerows stripped away at the Moreton Brickworks site along Carr Lane by Wirral Council operatives.
Fellings and hedge removal are once again being carried out at the start of the bird-nesting season, which is all wrong.
Last spring the same thing happened throughout Wirral - hundreds of trees were felled.
I remember during the first lockdown last March the noise in Birkenhead Park of the chain saws seemed never-ending and that went on, despite nesting birds.
These trees are not all a danger to the public, as the council are putting out.
And why are hedgerows being destroyed on Carr Lane?
Is it to clear the ground for building on our greenbelt?
All that residents get is silence from our councillors.
