NOW that the shoots of Spring are around the corner I would like to applaud Wirral Council's policy in 2020 in the reduced mowing of grass verges.

It was a joy for the first time in over 30 years to see Goldfinches feeding naturally, on seed bearing plants, outside of my property and I counted at least 15 wildflowers that were left to flourish and not regularly being mown into oblivion.

Hoping that this environment friendly policy carries on in 2021.

A positive green initiative well done WBC.
