WHILE Ramblers Association and their contributors have identified some 27 miles of unmapped and unclaimed rights of way in Wirral, a map of sufficient detail to identify the precise locations has not yet been issued, but should come soon.
The process of claiming lost ways is not particularly difficult but does require some time both at home on line and also in the local archives, either in Birkenhead or Chester, in order to collect the necessary evidence.
It may also be that these or other paths/ways have been in use more recently and evidence of such use may also enable a claim.
I am currently acting as a coordinator for Ramblers in Wirral for the purpose of restoring these lost ways and would be very pleased to hear from anyone who feels that they have something to contribute.
