GLOBE correspondent Mike Bulman (Letters, November 4) is quite right about the West Kirby Flood Wall.

It will blight a much-loved and used amenity - the Promenade.

Latest flawed plans show more than a third of the existing prom width will be swallowed up by this concrete carbuncle.

Residents on South Parade knew they were moving just a few feet metres from the water. Floods are so rare that the cure they crave will be worse than the ailment, especially when the Council contractors start pile driving for this monstrosity’s foundations.

The whole project is an expensive and un-necessary vanity project.
