I was walking my dog back to my car on Saturday October 10 on grassy areas by Derby Pool pub on the front.
She is rather slow now due to arthritis.
I checked no cycles were coming either way and carried on.
As you cross over a short hard path to get to the next field, people cycle and walk on this path too both ways. I heard a bell and looked around to find a cyclist right behind me (no social distancing).
He was travelling at speed so I said "slow down" as my dog cannot move fast.
He carried on and just said "it’s not very clever walking a dog on a cycle path".
I replied "it isn’t just a cycle path and I was only going from one grassy area to another".
He was quite obnoxious.
I replied saying “that’s very nice” and from a distance he put his finger up in a rude gesture, you can imagine what it was.
This made me so angry as lots of people walk on it and cycle on it.
If I would have had the chance I would have told him to look at the signs at the end of the path that have pictures of walkers and cyclists on it.
I don’t even walk on this path I was just cutting through to the next grass area. I am not onesided either. It works both ways.
I have seen letters from cyclists about dog owners, but I am fed up with some cyclists being offensive and it’s not just young ones either as in my case.
