HEADWAY Wirral, the Brain Injury Charity that supports adults with acquired brain injury, their families and carers, is still supporting people in spite of the Covid 19 lockdown.

The free charity that usually operates four drop in groups each week throughout Wirral, plus a fortnightly drop in at Clatterbridge Hospital, has been forced to close.

However, the service has been adapted in order to ensure that the required support is still there.

For some time now we have been operating weekly telephone contact calls and zoom meetings with clients as a way of reducing isolation and maintaining contact between them.

The free telephone helpline is also available for people wishing to make first contact for help or advice.

This week is national brain injury awareness week, with the emphasis this year being on memory loss following brain injury.

We are still here if you need us.

We are doing our best to look at alternative ways to help Wirral people wherever we can. Every three minutes a person suffers a brain injury in the UK and the numbers are growing.

It is even more important that we are still here at this difficult time.
