ON Saturday, June 27, at 7.20pm I got on a train at Bromborough Rake.

On a seat in the next carriage were two full bags, but no-one was sitting there.

I was thinking "they shouldn’t be there".

When the train stopped at Spital, I called the conductor and got him to look at the bags, because I was not going to go too close to them.

When he saw them, he said: “Oh, they’re only bags of rubbish and you’ve stopped a train for that?”

I didn’t, because it was already stopped at Sptial.

I thought calling him was the right thing to do, because it does come over the loudspeaker that if you see anything that shouldn’t be there, contact staff or British Transport Police.

Anything could have been in those bags and I could have pressed the emergency button to stop the train.

But I did wait to speak to staff first.

If I had not have called him and something had happened, what would the be saying then?

Merseyrail need to thank passengers for help they give on all things that shouldn’t be there and do their job right.

To me, they are not good keyworkers.
