TOLLS are reimposed on our essential workers who, courtesy of our Metro Mayor, now have to pay a minimum of £2 per day to continue to give their essential, life saving service to all of us.
They, and all other returning workers, will be poorer by paying this unnecessary Tax.
They will have less to spend on local goods and services. When crossing charges were recently removed from the Severn Crossing it enlivened the industries North and South of the River.
Why don’t we boost industry and commerce both side of the Mersey? This region surely could do with a boost.
It’s a pity the Metro Mayor and Leader of Halton Council want to kow-tow to the Dept of Transport who control the Dept policy and insist it would be "too difficult" to remove the Toll Barrier along the River Mersey.
