WHEN I opened the door to join in the applause for NHS workers and carers at 8pm on Thursday, I immediately had to step back inside again when fireworks started exploding.
My cat and I were both frightened.
Having serious underlying health issues, I was keen to show my support for the NHS. Should this happen again, I will dread it rather than look forward to it.
Applause is welcome.
Exploding fireworks shows a lack of concern for neighbours rather than support for the NHS.
I would ask, please, that this minority of people don’t set off fireworks if there is a next time.
The elderly and the anxious should also be considered, too.
