I TOOK the opportunity with the visit of the aircraft carrier Prince of Wales to take a walk from New Brighton to Woodside and return last week, a stroll of more than eight miles.

There were excellent views of the aircraft carrier and, I must say, lots of interest points provided on route along the promenade particularly up to Seacombe.

I would like to congratulate Wirral Borough Council for keeping the promenade free of litter and dog poo.

However, things start to deteriorate when one heads on the official route away from the seafront towards the Four Bridges and returning to the river front at the Stenna Line Terminal and on to Woodside.

The amount of disposed litter and graffiti on this half of the walk is a disgrace to our “leisure peninsular” and needs some action as soon as possible on what is deemed an approved walk and cycle path.
