I FULLY support the views of a Greasby resident whose letter, titled Not Acceptable, appeared in the February 26 edition of Globe.

I am one of those people that has an allergy to dogs (amongst other things) and will not get on a bus if there is a dog on board.

I enjoy walking and find that some dog owners think it alright to let their pet jump at me or allow it to sniff me.

When I make a comment they take offence, but it is they who are causing me a problem.

There are many comments in 'readers letters' about dog mess, so why don’t owners do something about it?

Many do, but not all!

I live near a garden that is maintained by the local authority and local volunteers.

Dog owners seem to think it is fine to let their dogs run free, so how do they know if their dog leaves a mess?

It is not their garden.

It is for to all to enjoy.

Also, they think it fine to throw balls across the garden for their dogs to fetch.

I am also finding it difficult to go to bars and restaurants that are dog free, which is very limiting to my social life as, indeed, it is to people like me with allergy problems.

So come on dog owners, take control of your pets, it's your responsibility to do so, and let us all enjoy the environment in which we live.

For those owners who do care, a big thank you.
