HAVING belatedly caught up with the last two editions of the Globe, I note that Leigh Marles has moved on from the editorship.
I’ve had a few letters published over the last year or so and would just wish to put on record my appreciation of the fact that, in addition to publishing correspondence dealing with local affairs, he allowed space for the airing of a broad spectrum of views and opinions, however extreme they may appear, in relation to more general matters.
For me, at least, this makes the paper much more interesting and, at times, very entertaining.
I wish Mr Marles all the best for the future and hope his replacement will be equally openminded when dealing with readers’ letters.
