I HAVE been wondering lately whether the council has shares in black-out curtains.

They might profit from it, if this is the case, from all the people who have no doubt gone out and bought them to block out the unnecessarily bright light from the new streetlights that shine through the bedroom windows.

I wonder it anyone else’s sleep has been disturbed by the 'blue light' (I think that’s what it’s called), which I think is can disrupt melatonin in the brain (melatonin being the thing that regulates sleep and helps us distinguish between night and daytime)?

It feels like I'm living next to a prison searchlight.

The old yellow-orange lamps were fine, though I suppose the argument is about brighter light being safer on the streets at night. It is also, I think, cheaper.

These things just seem to appear in our environment, organised and decided upon by others.

I suspect this is also happening, or going to happen, with the new '5G' system that it’s just going to start appearing (or has already been installed but no activated yet?) and is something that seems to receive only a cursory mention in the 'official' media (although youtube videos are full of warnings about its dangers) about its existence at all).
