I WTITE in response to the letter from your anonymous correspondent published by the Globe on January 29.
This lady is not alone.
There are around 20,000 1950s born women in Wirral affected, without having been adequately informed, by the pension age changes and some 3.8 million across the UK.
Like this lady, many are affected, too, by having been unknowingly 'contracted out' of paying full National Insurance contributions because they were paying into an occupational or private pension, with the consequence that their State Pension, when they finally receive it, will be considerably reduced and, if they have been able to retire earlier than the State Pension age (66 now) and stopped making NI contributions, it will be further reduced, no matter if they are well in excess of the minimum 35 years paying 'stamp'.
There are now several groups campaigning on these issues and in this area we have a very active branch of the We Paid In You Pay Out campaign.
I would urge the lady who wrote last week, and any others similarly affected by this gross injustice, to join our group - you are not alone, we support each other ! We can be found on Facebook, Wirral Warriors Pension Injustice Group, and on twitter, @wpiypo ; please come and join us.
