JOHNSON’S so-called "landslide" victory is, as usual, an invention of a triumphant, rabidly-biased capitalist press and media, who slavishly echo the celebrations of the spivs, speculators, shareholders, stockbrokers and the American imperialists.

Turn-out was actually down on the 2017 general election at 67.23 per cent compared with 68.7 per cent. 31.9 million went to the polling stations, but 16.1 million - 23 per cent of the total electorate - stayed at home.

The Tories won 43.6 per cent of the vote, compared with 32.2 per cent for Labour.

The result is a victory for ignorance over enlightenment, nationalism over class allegiance, propaganda over principle, the facile sound-bite ('Get Brexit done') over policies and the narrow interests of the plutocracy over the interests of the masses.

Johnson is a Thatcher clone and will unleash another tidal wave of misery and suffering upon the working class and poor.

Those in former Labour strongholds like Burnley, Bassetlaw, and Bolsover (Labour stalwart Dennis Skinner’s seat) who backed the Tory class enemy will pay very dearly for supping with the Devil.

Corbyn and company must also take a lion's share of the blame for this catastrophic defeat.

Their suicidal sitting on the fence over Brexit has left their buttocks covered in splinters, and the Parliamentary Labour Party reduced from 262 seats in 2017 to 203 in the new Parliament.

But Johnson will discover, as Thatcher did, there will be mass resistance to his attempts to enrich the rich even more at the expense of the working class.

His "honeymoon" is likely to be brief at a time of deepening world and British capitalist crisis.
