I WRITE in response to the letter in last week's edition referring to food banks.
I am sorry to hear of the person's experience.
Other foodbanks do operate across Wirral and it is almost certain that the incident does not refer to Wirral Foodbank.
For clarification, Wirral Foodbank does not collect or give out fresh food.
We provide non-perishable tinned and dried foods, UHT milk, toiletries etc. sufficient for three days.
Our volunteers are committed to support all who attend the foodbank.
I would like to take this opportunity of expressing my thanks to the people of Wirral for their incredible support of Wirral Foodbank.
We have been overwhelmed this Christmas with donations received.
Thank you to all for your generosity.
Richard Roberts,
General Manager, Wirral Foodbank
