IN response to your correspondent complaining about grass on our lovely beaches, I would point out that we have many wildlife areas on the Wirral, ie the Wirral Way, Burton RSPB, Thurstaston Centre, Parkgate, to name but a few.
I and many others are sick and tired of these activists who complain in the name of nature and wildlife.
The spartina which has been spreading across our beaches for many years is actually a harmful noxious weed and invasive species.
We have lost our sand dunes and the walkway from West Kirby to Hoylake is overgrown and surrounded by boggy areas.
Let the council do their job and clear this invasive grass before it covers the whole of the Hoylake and West Kirby beaches.
