MANY drivers are breaking the law since the car lighting law changed to "must be on in poor visibility."
It is nothing to do with street lights being on or off.
Rule 226 states "where one cannot see 100 metres."
Most modern cars have sensors to turn the car lights on automatically in poor visibility, but still we see some drivers, mainly in older cars, ploughing on illegally with no lights on in rain, poor light etc, oblivious to all the cars passing them with their lights automatically turned on.
This is dangerous to all the other road users and maybe a police blitz fining these illegal drivers would jog them into acting legally in future.
