I HAVE just received my council tax bill: 3% for the council, OK; 3% for the fire service, OK.
But a huge 13.5% increase for Merseyside Police and the Crime Commissioner, no way.
This follows last year’s 7.2% increase.
Phil Davies' letter to residents paints the usual rosy picture for the year ahead - but no mention of the tax increases.
The tax demand explanation letter can't even bring itself to mention the police increase by number saying simply ‘%’ with no explanation.
Are residents supposed not to notice these evasions?
According to our outgoing police and crime commissioner her recent, little publicised, 'consultation' showed a large majority keen to give her and the police anything they wanted!
Frankly, I do not believe her and I don't recall seeing a 13.5% increase mentioned anywhere.
I have met some decent, competent, coppers over the years but Merseyside Police as an organisation are on a level with the Keystone Cops.
We have lions led by donkeys.
Why throw away this money on a system not fit for purpose?
Sort it out first.
I am outraged and offended.
