IS there a more dangerous roundabout in the whole of Wirral than the one at Moreton Cross?

It is not so much the roundabout itself as the ridiculous paraphernalia that has been allowed to build up immediately adjacent to it.

As far as the eye can see there bus stops, a slip road, pelican crossings, a supermarket, even a lay-by on one of the the roundabout roads.

It is no wonder there are so many accidents there as it has become nothing less than an obstacle course.

Can't our council’s highways department devise something a little less lethal?

If all the stuff near the roundabout is deemed absolutely necessary then perhaps it might be better to get rid off it altogether and introduce a traffic lights system.

After all, no other council in the area loves installing traffic lights more than our own council. Come one, highways engineers, it is time to do something about this hazard.

And while you’re at it maybe take another look at the monster you created at St James' Church in the north end of Birkenhead as well!

Come to think of it, a total audit of Wirral's major roads might not be a bad idea.

I have seldom come across a more woeful set up, and I spend a lot of time driving around the North West.
