WIRRAL GP Federation (GPW-Fed) has 25 out of 51 Wirral GP practices as its members.
GPW-Fed delivers a number of services through its member practices for the people of Wirral and their own patients.
Since 2018, GPW-Fed has delivered phlebotomy services in a patient centred and collaborative manner across 25 practices.
Our model is based on delivering the vast majority of this service from patients' own practice.
In addition we have a team of phlebotomists who deliver the service to housebound patients.
We have three drop-in hubs - at Miriam Medical Centre, Birkenhead; Moreton Health Clinic and Holmlands Medical Centre, Prenton - to provide additional flexible appointments.
GPW-FED would like to categorically state that there are no problems with delivering this service and there will be no disruption to our patients.
We would like to reassure the public and our patients that the service will continue to be delivered.
If patients are in any doubt, they should check with their respective practice.
Dr John Mottram, GPW-Fed chairman
