RABY Mere was once a beauty spot now it's a grot spot what with the disappearing ducks and strange coloured water algae.
A six foot fence has now been erected, measuring several yards the full length of the corner of a property opposite the Mere totally out of character with the rural surroundings.
It has blocked the view of oncoming traffic on the bend coming from the little bridge in Thornton Common Road and replicates the Berlin Wall.
Another example of the worsening state of once pleasant beauty spots and nobody seems to care, very sad.
