I WRITE further to A Douglas' letter regarding shambolic bus services.
It is not only the elderly and infirm who are being treated callously. Young people, who do not have the option to drive, and those who work outside the nine to five lose out as well.
Arriva buses seem incapable of operating fully after 6.30pm.
I cannot work late anymore unless I want to spend more than two hours getting home.
This will further damage the high street.
In order to spend money in shops, you have to be able to get there in the first place.
Public consultation should be compulsory in any proposed bus route change.
And yes, could Merseytravel be replaced with something capable of planning an adequate bus service?
