ON Saturday, January 12, around 11.15am, my husband had a fall at the crossing at the end of Banks Road, West Kirby.

As we have no way of contacting those who helped us, we would like to say thank you to all those who came to our aid with a strong arm to help him up, things to staunch the blood, a blanket to keep him warm and a lift to hospital - where he was stitched and glued above his right eye.

The stitches are now out and the bruises are fading, but the remembrance of what you did will not.

With our thanks,

Eleanor and Iain Macarthur, West Kirby.
