I HAVE followed the Brexit issue closely and so far have got some events right and others wrong.

However all politicians seem lost in a maze of contradictory motions, amendments and counter amendments all of which founder against the rock of the obdurate Eurocrats in Brussels.

I have no doubt now that this will continue right up to the last couple of days before March 29 and the public will know what their likely fate will be - a cliff-edge Brexit.

Brussels will not concede an inch, so coupled with the sheer incompetence of our politicians, with one or two exceptions, Britain will go over the cliff edge into the unknown.

Troops are on standby - I wonder why?

Are there plans for them to distribute food? Or is it to quell social unrest?

The Queen should intervene now and dissolve parliament, but probably won't for fear of being accused of bias towards Labour.

I fear for our country bereft of the statesmen of old who saved us in past turmoils.

We are again lions, led by donkeys.
