THROUGH your newspaper I wish to commend the street cleaner who, on the morning of Christmas Eve, transformed the pavements in the centre of Heswall.
At 9am, I had walked from Boundary Lane to the bus station and was appalled at the amount of litter strewn about.
Cans, bottles, fast-food containers, large pizza boxes, waste paper of varying sizes and cigarette ends had been dropped onto the pavement and into the gutter.
Four hours later, when I returned to Heswall, the pavement was totally litter-free.
Congratulations to the street cleaner.
Shame on litter louts.
J Gibson, Heswall
