SO the aftermath of the New Ferry explosion doesn't meet the Government's criteria for financial help and the local council can hide behind the often-quoted cliche Government cuts.
Where will this impasse leave the victims of the disaster?
A Government that claims austerity is over and a council that loans millions to other councils and pursues a grandiose and unwanted golf fantasy.
Politicians are fond of saying they entered politics "to improve people's lives" it has more than a hollow ring with this sorry state of affairs.
