LIKE many I am not surprised by the news that Avon buses are no longer in operation, although it is a great shame as they provided a good service across Wirral especially to the older generation.
However, it is concerning that there are still many of Avon's routes which are yet to be picked up by Arriva or Stagecoach.
Despite being in close proximity to each other Irby, West Kirby and Hoylake are now cut off.
I am now unable to visit my friend in Caldy without getting on a bus to Arrowe Park Hospital and changing, adding an extra 15 to 20 minutes to my journey.
There are many more people who, like me, now feel trapped in their homes without any means of travel due to the sudden stopping of this service.
Please Merseytravel don't leave us small Wirral villages out of your masterplan.
