I KEEP reading articles, written on behalf of the council, about how seriously they are treating and dealing with the illegal dumping of rubbish and flytipping.
This has constantly not been my experience.
In March I wrote to "Streetscene", reporting an incident of rubbish dumped in the passageway to the rear of my home and requested its removal.
My letter was completely ignored and I did not even receive an acknowledgement of receipt.
However, about a month later, I wrote again and this letter received exactly the same treatment as the first.
As a consequence, I then contacted a local councillor who visited my home and advised me he "would do what he could and contact me further."
Nothing has been done and I am still awaiting the contact. In desperation, I called at the Moreton One-Stop Shop and enquired about how I could contact an environmental health representative.
The advisor did not know how to make contact with this department and could only offer me a telephone number which she considered was very possibly out-of-date.
If this is the council's idea of giving something "top priority" I dread to think what happens to a lower priority concern.
