I WENT to wirral.gov.uk to get the phone number for West Kirby "One Stop Shop," as for some time now we cannot just walk in to see an advisor.
The page emphasised this procedure, but no contact number took me three pages to find that number.
After a lot of legalese about Data Protection, I get choices as to what department I need.
I then listen to 15 minutes of Classical Gas, I used to like that tune.
A friendly young man listened to my request and told me: "Sorry, due to staff shortages, you cannot make appointments anymore, you have to just walk in and take your chances."
I mentioned the strict instructions about "appointments only" on the website. He said: "I will pass on your comments to my line manager!"
Thanks, so helpful.
Be warned Globe readers!
Whilst our Government continue to make life harder for many of us to make ends meet, our local council mismanage what little we do have in the coffers, whilst apparently indifferent to the public's growing need for helpful and accurate information, about shrinking and less efficient frontline services.
So if you need to go to a OneStop Shop, don't expect Wirral Gov's website to help you.
