I WOULD like, through your pages, to give thanks to a young man who came to our aid at a really stressful time.

On the night of Thursday, August 9, my wife and I (both in our 80s) were on our way to Greasby for dinner with friends.

Our hire car had been causing problems.

They were made worse when a passing motorcyclist told us our car was on fire, just as we were turning into Greasby Road.

A young man in cycling gear came up behind us.

He did the lion’s share of helping to push the car out of the traffic.

He then used his phone to call the company involved and set up a recovery call-out for us.

It is so refreshing, in this day and age, to find that there are still good Samaritans out there.

We would like to say a heart-felt thank you to the young man who came to our rescue.
