AS we are often hearing how our local police are “letting the public down,” I just thought I would like to give an example of how well my neighbour was looked after when her house was broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 22.

She rang the police to report the break-in and two officers arrived within about 20 minutes; they were so kind and considerate, they found out how the burglars had obtained entry and took down her statement.

The other officer did house-to-house inquires. They left saying they would arrange for scene of crime investigators to call and they arrived an hour later, which my neighbour thought was amazing.

All together a very professional response from all concerned.

Meols.
