Counting the cost
I NOW know why goods don't last like they used to.
A few weeks ago, I walked into one of the leading shoe shops in the town centre of Birkenhead.
I tried on a pair of men’s black slip on shoes size 11.
They were made in Vietnam. Price £72, down to £35 in the sale!
Now our grandson his been home from Vietnam for a few weeks.
Before he went back to his job there, I asked him what would it cost to produce the shoes in Vietnam - £2.
So the real cost of the shoes is £2.
No wonder things do not last.
