IF people think that this council will ever stop taking money out of your wage packet and household income you're living in cloud cuckoo land.

Cllr Ian Lewis' excellent insight into this council's finances (Wirral Globe, February 7) should be a wake up call for people who have swallowed the budgetary restraints pill.

The costs of fixing and general responsibility of this mess in New Ferry was this council’s responsibility.

Well for people like that, I'd like to quote another great historical figure, Aristotle, who used the term for people in denial.
