OLD Parkonians First XI travelled to Glazebury hoping for a fifth win of the season, however the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to a dangerous outfield.

Despite that, the Holm Lane side sit third in the table only 20 points adrift from leaders Pott Shrigley in the UKFast CCL Division Four with two games in hand.

The Second XI enjoyed a successful day at home to the dangerous Maritime. In the match sponsored by Alan Morris Windows, Old Parkonians batted first and scored 118-9 off their 45 overs.

Evergreen John Orr hit a patient 42 and Adam Westwater chipped in with 27 to score the majority of the runs for the home side.

Tight bowling from Adam Walkling (12-1-20-1) and Adam Westwater restricted the visitors to less than two runs an over.

The introduction of off-spinner Alexa Harrison and leg-spinner Nathan Bradshaw was to prove the game-changer though, Harrison taking 3-19 from five overs and Bradshaw claiming 3-13 from just shy of five overs as Maritime slumped to 87 all-out.

Scores:

Parkonians 118-9, Maritime 87-10
