OLD Parkonians first XI got back to winning ways away at Mossley last Saturday, writes Christopher Beckett.

The 152-run victory was a welcome relief to the Holm Lane side who had looked to recover after last week's loss.

Old Parkonians were invited to bat by the hosts and early damage from Ben Rees and Tim Hitchell (16) saw the visitors post a quick 31 runs inside the first six overs before Hitchell was out caught.

Rees (22) departed shortly after and Mark Rayner (20) contributed well also.

The big impact, however was to be David Nedugodan who impressed with a superb century.

Nedugodan (101) hit the ball to all parts of the small ground and his 65-ball feat contained 11 fours and four maximums.

Lindop (34) and Saeed (15no) assisted in posting a sizeable total of 215-6 declared from 39.3 overs.

After an opening stand of 37, the Mossley reply quickly lost momentum and the hosts were rapidly bundled out for 63 in a fine Old Parkonians bowling performance.

Dan Berkson (7-1-24-2) was in the wickets again, as was Chris Beckett (5-4-2-4) who bowled four consecutive maidens before eventually leaking runs.

Winstanley (4-0-5-2) bowled well again and Lewis Elwood (1.5-0-2-1) finished the hosts off.

The victory sees Old Parkonians 32 points at the summit of Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division Two as they continue to strive towards promotion.
