BUSHELL Athletic and KRCT Bidston both cruised into the next round of the Veronica Conway Cup with dominant performances.
KRCT Bidston’s goal-scoring form showed no signs of slowing down as they brushed aside Great Float with a commanding 5-1 victory. Charlie Holland and Joe Dulson each bagged doubles, while Dega Taylor added his name to the score sheet to seal the win. Tom Harris netted for the Float.
Bushell Athletic continued their impressive run of form, this time dismantling Cheshire Cheese. Jacob McLoughlin found the back of the net twice, with Leon Jones and Max Tattler also getting on the scoresheet in a comfortable win.
In the President's Cup 1st round, Fender FC carried their strong league form into cup action with a 2-1 triumph over AFC Saughall. Goals from Ellis Byrne and Ray Upton secured their place in the next round.
Meanwhile, the Tony Smith Cup 1st round saw Oxton Celtic and Feeney’s battle to a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes. C. Ford struck for Celtic, with Mark Rand equalizing for Feeney’s, who ultimately held their nerve to win 5-4 in a tense penalty shootout.
After last week’s giant-killing upset, Wirral Radio came crashing back down to earth with a 3-0 defeat to Upton Willows. Tom McSherry’s standout performance guided Willows, with goals from Sam Shannon, Dean Wylde, and Jake Norton securing their spot in the next round.
The Jimmy Core Cup 1st Round delivered a dramatic showdown as Fender Youth triumphed over Glenavon Eagles in a 13-goal epic. Fender spread the scoring across their squad with Josh Walker, Adam Saunders, Jamime Jones, Gabe Bratu, George Rhodes, Louie Smith, and Josh Kelly all finding the net in a thrilling 7-6 victory to book their spot in the next round.
Parkgate St. Germain had a far easier time, dismantling Farmers Arms 10-1. Nick McNeight led the charge with a hat-trick, while Adam Mathews scored twice. Luke Hall, Tom Swift, Ryan Wright, Harry Baldwin-Brown, and Ben Swift each added singles . Joe Deakin netted a consolation goal for Farmers Arms. Athletic VH narrowly overcame AFC Tima 3-2, with Ross Meadows continuing his scoring form. Lewis McKeown and Harper Farnsworth also found the net for Athletic, while Cameron Jones and U. Jalo responded for Tima.
In another closely fought tie, North Wirral Saints and Glenavon Athletic played out a 2-2 draw, with Alex Fletcher scoring both goals for Saints. George Wild and Brad Selby hit back for Glenavon, who eventually triumphed 3-1 in the penalty shootout. West Kirby United stormed past MSC Eastham with a commanding 7-3 win. Tom Fleming and Robbie Nairn both bagged hat-tricks, while an own goal contributed to the scoreline. MSC Eastham replied with goals from Natas Asmonas, Alfie Mullins, and Jack Hughes.
Kieran Hamm stole the spotlight with a hat-trick as Dock cruised to a 5-0 win over Wellington. Greg Drummond and George Nugent also got on the scoresheet, securing Dock’s dominant performance.
Meanwhile, Woodchurch FC’s Ben Holmes scored twice, but it wasn’t enough to stop Queens Park’s ruthless attacking display. Queens fired in seven goals, with Harvey Sample and Joel Whalley both netting braces. Jamie Leylan, Tom Randle, and Liam Owen added to the tally, rounding off a comprehensive 7-2 victory.
In Division One, Luke Blundell delivered the drama with a last-minute winner, giving Neston Nomads a narrow 1-0 victory over Eagle & Stirrup. Meanwhile, Shaftsbury’s winning streak came to an end as Rig Move secured a much-needed 1-0-win, courtesy of a Danny Page strike in another tightly contested match.
Whitby Rangers found their form in spectacular fashion, demolishing Lions FC 11-0. Matty Vickers was at his lethal best with a hat-trick, while Dom Hoppe, Dylan Doyle, and Matty Hickman each bagged double’s. Haz Cooper and Brad Bland also got on the scoresheet in a ruthless performance.
In Division Two, Upton Town edged a 10-goal thriller against Eastham Rangers, winning 6-4. Stuart Hardman was the star of the show, netting four times, while Reece Dettlaff and Paul Stewart also contributed to the scoreline. Eastham Rangers fought back with goals from Martin Marshall, Nick Evans, Kieran Hodgson, and an own goal but couldn’t close the gap.
Higher Bebington Kelma secured a narrow 1-0 win over Woodchurch Rovers, thanks to a Liam Atherton strike.
Poulton Vics S&S continued to struggle defensively despite Jack Gordon’s scoring streak, as Barkers Sheridan’s claimed a 3-2 victory with goals from Dom Thomas, Mark Munt, and Darren Sutton.
Saughall FC delivered a commanding performance with a 5-0 win over Catons. Andy Noonan bagged a brace, with further goals from Tom Ashcroft, Stefan Dodd, and Chris Hynes sealing the result.
West Kirby Wasps stung with a narrow 3-2 victory in the only Division Three game of the weekend. Colin Singleton and Shaun Anderson were on target for Rangers, but goals from Tom Murray, Alfie Bugg, and Fin Lane secured the win for the Wasps in a tightly fought contest.
