THE opening games in the Cheshire Cricket League saw a win in Division Two for Wirral at Holmes Chapel.
Jack Cureton took 3-10 as the hosts were dismissed for 96 before David Lewis (46no) sealed a seven wicket win.
Irby began life back in the Southport and District Premier League with a big win over Skelmersdale. Nabeel Tahir (71) and Rafi Afridi (51) hit half-centuries as the visitors made 201-9. Three wickets apiece for Oliver Wilson (3-17), Rob Mallon (3-16) and Tom Crawford (3-17) clinched a 115 run victory.
