TRANMERE Rovers have confirmed midfielder Rob Apter will return to Prenton Park until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old made a total of 21 appearances for Rovers, scoring five goals and assisting twice, before returning to parent club Blackpool FC following the end of his loan deal.

The Seasiders have now confirmed that Apter has signed an extended contract at Bloomfield Road until at least June 2027, with the club also holding an option for a further 12 months.

Following the signing of his new contract at Blackpool, Apter will rejoin Tranmere Rovers for the remainder of the season.

Rovers manager, Nigel Adkins, said: "We're delighted to have Robbie Apter back with Tranmere Rovers until the end of the season.

"His efforts towards our performances in the first half of the season were huge, and we're very happy to have reached an agreement to extend his stay here at Prenton Park."

Apter said: "I'm delighted to have signed my new deal at Blackpool and I'm looking forward to what will hopefully be an exciting future.

"When I initially joined as a scholar four or five years ago, I was just hopeful of signing a professional contract, so to sit here now in this position just a few years later is a great feeling. It's great to have everyone's backing here, and I want to repay that faith shown in me.

"I now can't wait to go back to Tranmere Rovers for the second half of the season. They really made me feel welcome there and gave me a platform to show what I can do at League Two level. I'm looking forward to heading back and completing what feels like unfinished business.

“I’m made up. As soon as I knew I was wanted back, it was the only thing I wanted to do.”

Tranmere added that they would like to thank the Southern Super White Army whose sponsorship of the player has enabled the loan agreement to take place.

Apter displayed an exemplary attitude throughout his initial loan spell which ended last week, and endeared himself to the Rovers faithful through his eye-catching performances.
