MIDFIELDER Rob Apter has returned to his parent club Blackpool following his loan spell at Tranmere Rovers.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a hugely successful period at Prenton Park during the first half of the season, scoring five goals and providing two assists across 21 appearances in all competitions.

Apter has enjoyed rave reviews during his time in Wirral becoming an important member of manager Nigel Adkins' resurgent Tranmere side in the last few months.

Last week he drew the plaudits from Notts County boss Luke Williams following Tranmere's 4-2 victory over the Magpies.

Williams said: "Rob Apter was incredible, he destroyed us and caused us endless problems and we couldn’t cope with that."

Liverpool-born Apter joined Tranmere’s youth setup aged eight, and remained with Rovers for a large part of his development until leaving aged 15.
