CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division

The recent cold weather decimated the CWFL fixture list, but two games survived in the Premiership as Hoole Rangers captain and leading goal scorer, Josh Leach, netted a fine hat-trick as Hoole moved up to third in the Premier Division. Connor Howley and Callum Jones also got in on the act to give Hoole a superb 5-1 victory against last season champions Blacon Youth Club whose consolation goal came from a Jack Rowlands strike.

Waggon & Horses' relentless pursuit of the Premier Division Trophy continued as they seen off nearest rivals Christleton FC winning 3-1. Efforts from Kieran Ball, Gary Roberts, and man of the match, Robbie Davies, gave George Mortimer's men the points as Joe Bowdler scored Christleton’s consolation goal.

CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship

Only one game survived in the Championship and again Waggon & Horses Reserves extended their lead at the top to eight points as they saw off bottom club Sutton Rangers Reserves 6-2. Nahidur Rahman shone with a two- goal performance and was accompanied on the scoresheet by Ellis Moore, Connor Randles and man of the match, Harris Dixon, on his first game back after a recent injury.

Vets Cheshire Cup

Friday night Vets Cheshire Cup action saw 4th Division, Frodsham Park Vets, go to Vauxhalls to take on top 1st Division side, Hooton Vetsz, and despite putting on a brave performance it was Hooton who prevailed through to the quarter finals with a 5-2 win. Speed merchant, Dave Rudge, netted a double as did Paul Cupit and Eddie Jebb also netted. Rob Davies and Andy Samson scored for Frodsham.

Another 4th Division side, Hartford Vets, also gave a good account of themselves as they made Lache Vets work for their win. With ten minutes left Hartford were winning 2-1 after strikes from Mike Jones and Andy Marlor but could not hang on as 10-man Lache scored two late goals to progress to the next round.

Higher Bebington Kelma Vets got a walk-over as did favourites, Mersey Royal Vets,. Second round games still to be played see Hoole Rangers Vets take on Cheshire Vikings Vets and Capenhurst Vets play West Kirby Vets whilst Queens Park Vets travel to Neston Vets this Saturday - the quarter finals will undoubtedly throw up some exciting games.

CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 4

Only one game in the 4th Division and a double from Daniel Kelly and a single from Kyle Mearns gave FC Vaults a 3-2 win against Nags Head Bunbury Vets to put them second in the league three points behind Hartford Vets.
