RAIN decimated the weekend's cricket fixtures yet again with just two results possible across all three divisions of the Love Lane Liverpool and District Cricket Competition.
Unfortunately for New Brighton, who are bottom of the Premier League, one of those was their four wicket defeat at leaders Ormskirk.
A succession of rain interruptions left the visitors declaring on 130-8 after 34.3 overs with Dan Cooke (26) top scoring. With only 14 overs left to reach the target, Ormskirk smashed their way to victory with just three balls remaining. Martyn Evans took 4-52 off his 6.3 overs.
Caldy did begin their First Division game at home to Ainsdale and were 33-3 when the rain called a halt to proceedings. Both sides remain in the bottom two.
