WALLASEY'S Sumit Ruikar claimed extraordinary figures of 9-53 as the Love Lane Liverpool Competition champions recaptured some of last season's form with an 85 run win over Southport and Birkdale.

Ruikar's breathtaking spell came after a brilliant century from opener Jamie Crawley (136) had helped the visitors declare on 227-6. 

Bottom of the table New Brighton gave their chances of Premier League survival a boost with a six wicket win over Rainhill. Suliman Safi (5-34) and Sukhjit Singh (4-33) combined to dismiss the visitors for 105 before 42 from Owais Shah secured an important victory.

Birkenhead Park sit third in Division One after a three wicket win over St Helens Town. Satyajeet Bachhav took 4-47 as Park bowled out Town for 94 but the modest target proved a challenge with Chris Benjamin's unbeaten 43 proving crucial. 

Caldy are in the relegation places but will take heart from a battling draw at home to Liverpool. Sachin Kumar Singh bowled 30.3 overs in taking 6-64 as the visitors were dismissed for 167 with Caldy managing to cling on for a share of the points  after closing on 136-9. Harry Beddard top scored with 38. 

Parkfield Liscard moved off the bottom of Division Two with their second consecutive win. Irby were the visitors to Pembertons Meadow and 4-39 from Dinesh Reid restricted them to 124 all out before Nadeera Rupasinghe's 39 helped seal a five wicket victory which sees Irby replace their victors at the foot of the table.
