WALLASEY'S defence of their Premier League title is turning into a relegation scrap after they were dismissed for just 50 by Rainhill. 

Batting first, the home side declared on 222-9 off 55 overs with the ever-reliable Sumit Ruikar taking 7-83 off his 24 overs and Derbyshire's Billy Godleman hitting 102. What followed was a disaster for the visitors as only Josh Rylance (21) reached double figures in a 172 run defeat. 

While Wallasey are 12 points above the drop zone, New Brighton are rooted firmly to the bottom following a four wicket defeat at Rainford. Opener Seb Boates struck 56 for the Wirral side as they were bowled out 156 before the hosts reached the target off 39 overs. Sukhjit Singh took 3-51. 

In Division One, Birkenhead Park met Liverpool in a top three clash at Park Drive. The visitors were dismissed for 208 with Khalid Wahbi (3-46) and Mark Rowland (3-33) picking up the wickets. The hosts were left hanging on for a share of the points finishing on 103-9 with number 11 David Nevin facing 33 balls for his 0 not out. 

Caldy made the long trip to Lytham where they were bowled out for 168 before the home side eased past the visitors for the loss of three wickets. 

Parkfield Liscard remain bottom of Division Two despite dismissing Alder for just 87. Sadeep Saputantrige (4-18) and Jehan Yahathugoda (4-14) bowled well for the visitors but they crumbled to 46 all out with Alder's Greg Harvey taking 7-24. 

Irby are one place above Parkfield Liscard after a 37 run defeat at home to Southport Trinity. Smit Mehta took 6-31 as the visitors were bowled out for 142 with Irby's reply ending on 105.
