TRANMERE Rovers secured an important three points after defeating Curzon Ashton at home in the North West Women’s Regional League.

Two late goals from Rachel Davison and a first half goal from Elisha Price were the difference at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village.

The first sight of goal came Rovers’ way when Liz Roberts found herself in space on the left and drove forward but the Curzon keeper held well denying Tranmere the opener.

It didn’t take long for an opener when the Cheadle number nine tried her luck from range and the ball found itself looping over Maddock into the back of net to give the visitors the lead.

Rovers were forced into a first half substitution as Keris McRoberts came off injured and was replaced by Laura Pennington.

On the stroke of half time Price equalised for Tranmere with a calm and composed finish that saw her shot from 12 yards fly past the Ashton keeper.

Just three minutes into the second half the visitors regained their lead, but despite the blow Rovers didn’t take their foot off the gas as they continued to press the visitors.

With 20 minutes remaining, Davison replaced Price and she caused a huge impact when with two minutes remaining her free kick found the net to bring Rovers level.

Moments before the final whistle Davison danced her way past three defenders and put the ball past the keeper to secure the three points.
